On May 22, 2022 the sewer collections division received a call from the Paulding County Water dispatch that a citizen reported an overflowing manhole behind 74 White Oak Drive. The crews arrived at 8:30 p.m. and discovered the manhole was overflowing at a rate of 20 gallons per minute. Pump trucks were used at the lift station to stop the spill. One pump had slowed due to clogging, and the second pump had malfunctioned. The clogged pump was immediately unclogged and debris removed from the pump to return the station to operation. The second pump has been repaired. The spill stopped at 11:30 p.m. An estimated 3600 gallons of untreated water discharged into Pumpkinvine Creek. Signs were placed at the creek and lime was applied to the area.
