Paulding County staff responded to a resident calling about a possible overflow behind her home near our Oakley Point lift station. An overflow was observed at 4:23 p.m. on 10/09/22, the gravity main was blocked with solids including grease and rags. Pump trucks were used to limit the spill volume. Water Department staff cleared the blockage stopping the overflow. Approximately 3,600 gallons of untreated wastewater spilled onto the ground and into an intermittent unnamed tributary to Pickett’s Mill Creek. Lime has been applied at the site and signs have been placed at creek access points.
