This office is reaching out to local state officials to share some info regarding a layoff aversion program which has a training component for companies that need to upgrade their facilities, but their current employees don’t have the skill set to operate the new machinery. The state will pay for the training at no cost to the employer. The attached PDF describes the program. An early intervention network for businesses that may be in distress is in the works. This program hopes to catch business that may be in need of assistance before it’s too late for any intervention.
