The arrest record can only be expunged if the case is dropped or dismissed by the courts.
You must appear in person (with picture ID and your social security number) at the Paulding County Sheriff's Office and request a current Georgia Criminal History Record check. There is a $10.00 fee for Paulding residents and a $20.00 fee for non-residents for the criminal history record check.
You will be given a Request to Expunge Form that you will need to complete and return to the sheriff's office.
The form will be sent to the District Attorney's Office for review. This process will likely take several months. The District Attorney's office will send the form back to the Sheriff's Office once their decision has been reached.
The Sheriff's Office will contact you if the request was approved by the District Attorney's Office. You may contact the Paulding County Sheriff's Office after 3 months to check the status of your request if you have not received information.
Once the request is approved by the District Attorney's Office, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office may return the approved request form to the applicant. The applicant will be responsible for forwarding the Request Form and $25.00 fee to the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC).

You must fear for the safety/life of yourself or your children, the batterer must be a Paulding County resident, you must have lived with the batterer, you must have an address where the batterer can be served, and the act of violence must fall in to one of 7 categories:

You must go to the Paulding County Sheriff's Office in person to meet with a deputy and request to be escorted. You must be able to pick up your belongings in less than 30 minutes. You may set up an appointment with the Paulding County Sheriff's Office Warrants/Civil Division for an escort if you require more than 30 minutes.

You must contact the Paulding County Sheriff's Office Evidence Technician by phone (770-443-3015) in order to make arrangements to pick up any items.
The case file and items must be reviewed first to determine if the release of the item(s) is authorized.
