Homestead Exemptions
To receive the benefit of the homestead exemption, the taxpayer must file an initial application. In Paulding County, the applications are accepted year-round and must be filed by March 1 of the year which the exemption is first claimed by the taxpayer. It is normally filed at the same time that the initial return for the homestead property is filed.

Senior Citizen Exemptions
Paulding County offers several exemptions for senior citizens reaching 65 as of January 1st. Upon reaching age 65, a senior may be eligible for other exemptions. Senior exemptions are based upon income. You will need either a birth certificate or driver's license when applying.

Exemptions available for Persons with Disabilities and Veterans with Disabilities

There are disability exemptions available. Persons applying for the disability exemptions must provide a letter signed by their doctors stating that they are permanently 100% disabled. A veteran's exemption is available to those veterans whose disability is 100% service connected. A letter from the Veterans Administration is required.
