• Advising the Board of Commissioners on financial matters
• Maintenance of financial records for all funds
• Preparation and distribution of financial reports for all funds
• Development and implementation of internal control methods
• Management of fixed assets
• Preparation and administration of annual budgets
• Procurement of supplies, equipment, materials, and services

Each year, on June 1, the Chairman is required to present his/her proposed budget to the Board of Commissioners. During the Month of July, the Commission holds a public hearing on the budget prior to its adoption ("as proposed" or "as amended") at the first regular Commission meeting in August.
