Paulding County voters have supported consecutive referendums of Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax programs, known as SPLOST, since 1988. This one (1) cent sales tax has paid for County and City facilities, new roads and improvements, greenspace, parks and recreation facilities, police and fire stations, and libraries around the county. Your pennies are working to keep Paulding County a great place to live, work and play.
SPLOST dollars have contributed to multiple transportation construction projects in Paulding, paying for the construction of new roads, widening existing roads, and making many improvements to reduce bottlenecks and upgrade traffic flow and safety. These improvements include intersection upgrades, new turn lanes, traffic signals, alignment and safety improvements, bridge replacements, sidewalks, drainage, and school mitigation projects. The County also partners with the State to improve roadways in Paulding County. County staff often handles design, land acquisition, and environmental permitting for State road projects.
