First Appearance Hearings

First Appearance Hearing

Video Conferencing is utilized for all First Appearance Hearings at the Paulding County Jail.

First Appearance Hearings are held every Monday at 11:00 AM, Wednesday at 10:00 AM, and Friday at 10:00 AM by a Magistrate judge via video conference. The presiding judge varies depending on the Magistrate Office’s calendar.

The First Appearance Hearing is an initial appearance for the defendant to be advised of the criminal charges that have been filed against them and to determine if a bond will be set. This is NOT a "formal" bond hearing.
